Love Rosaries = Pink & Maroon Matching Rosaries (His & Hers Rosary Set)

Customized Rosary Set

ALB ♥ CGR

December 2013

Love Rosaries

colors: Pink (hers), Maroon (his)
materials: crystals, metal heart spacers

This is one of the most unique inquiries I received.  Such a sweet gesture from a man who is secretly in love with a girl  :)

Hi Ms Hazel,

I would like to inquire about the his and hers rosary set. I am going to give this to a friend who is leaving our company this December 15. Can you make a pair maybe 4 or 3 days before that day?

I am thinking of a matching rosary with initials. CGR for her and ALB for his. She likes pink and  maroon for him. I am thinking that each rosary can be on its own but can you add a design that can unite each rosary or rather show that they are actually 2 pieces that only pairs with each other. I will be giving the pink one to my friend not knowing that there is another one that pairs with hers.  Someday when we meet again, I can pair/unite the 2 rosaries showing that we were meant for each other.

So here's what I came up with... as I'm writing this post, I thought I'd called them "Love Rosaries"... :)   i used heart spacers to symbolize love :)

2 separate rosaries = Hers and His
His rosary - his initials ALB
Hers - her initials CGR
the love rosaries joined together as one
2 rosaries sharing one main tail
(from the medallion down to the cross)
main tail
His & Hers rosaries in their separate rosary cases

Irish ♥ Enrico = Bridal Brooch Bouquet

Customized Non-floral Bouquet

Brooch Bouquet for the lovely bride

wedding theme: Back to School
wedding colors:  Blue & Yellow
materials: brooches, ribbons, artificial flowers, faux pearls, crystals, scrabble tiles

Another first for me - making a brooch bouquet for the bride.  This was one of the challenges for me in this project.  Of course, the bride has to stand out so making a masterpiece (it has to be a masterpiece, it's for the bride!) was a HUGE pressure on me.  Like the kusudama bouquets and flowers, I haven't experienced doing a brooch bouquet before, so I did a lot of research to make sure I'll come up with a bouquet that's not just sparkly and pretty, but sturdy as well.  :)  Glad my clients loved it! :)

To Mr & Mrs. Lopez,
Thank you for your trust - entrusting the flowers of the whole entourage to me was huge - even if I'm just a newbie in this line of work.  I hope all the flowers & boutonnieres I customized for you, made your big day even more special and unique. I wish you forever love for one another & a blessed and fruitful marriage...

And I also wanna thank Sir Neil - thank you for your trust as well, if not for you, I wouldn't have had this project.

And I wanna thank you all for your appreciation of my work.  When I read your feedbacks during our exchange of emails showing you the works I finished, giving you updates, your kind words and compliments made me super glad! And those words made me more inspired while doing the project. I was just happy to be able to meet/exceed your expectations (like you said). It was nice working with you guys.. the pleasure's mine :)

Again, thank you for choosing Crystals and Beads! :)

Irish ♥ Enrico = Back to School Boutonnieres

Customized Boutonnieres

October 19, 2013

Wedding theme: Back to School
Wedding colors:  Blue & Yellow
Materials:  crystals, scrabble tiles, sequin flowers, seed beads, erasers, flower-shaped sequins, faux peals, felt cloth, pencil sharpener

Ideas for the materials that I can use to incorporate the wedding theme to the boutonnieres was easy, I immediately thought of little books we usually see on key chains, paper clips, book pages, erasers, etc. The hard part was finding them.  Glad I found erasers with letters on them, and in different shapes -- pens, bags, books. They're so cute! I also found lunch box pencil sharpeners! Perfect for the theme right? :)

I thought of putting "I do" on both the boutonniere and the bride's bouquet but I didn't find erasers with letters i, d and o, so I thought of something else and i came up with -- scrabble tiles! :)

I made 16 boutonnieres for the male entourage:
- 1 groom                - 1 best man          - 2 fathers
- 3 groomsmen         - 3 male SS          - 6 male PS/ninong

Irish ♥ Enrico = Back to School Entourage Flowers

Kusudama Bouquets, Wands & Wrist Corsages

Irish Barlaan ♥ Enrico Lopez
October 19, 2013

Wedding theme:  Back to school
Wedding colors:  Blue & Yellow
Materials: maps, colored specialty papers, printed papers, crystals, beads, pencils, paint brushes, ribbons

Another first for me -- making kusudama flowers.  These kusudama flowers were very tedious to make -- lots of paper cutting, folding, gluing! Seriously, they were really hard to make - very time consuming & requires a lot, I mean A LOT of patience. Thank you to my mom for helping me out in constructing the flowers. I couldn't have finished all of them in time without you.

I made 9 kusudama bouquets -- 1 MoH, 2 mothers, 3 bridesmaids, 3 secondary sponsors. Then 3 kusudama wands for the flower girls, and 6 kusudama wrist corsages for the female principal sponsors (ninang).  Each flower is made of 5 petals. 1 bouquet consists of around 20 flowers, a wand consists of 4 big flowers, and a wrist corsage consists of 3 small flowers. So just imagine how much work all of these required. whew! :)  But the end products? they were all worth the hard work :)

The "before"
had to make lots of flowers!

these were just the first batch!

The "After"

kusudama bouquets
used 7-8pcs of pencils for the handle of each bouquet
top view - kusudama wand

lots of flowy ribbons so it would look cute when
held by little flower girls

this was the first design (but we decided to revise
and remove the crayons)
long PAINT BRUSH  as handle for the wands
top view - kusudama wrist corsage
used checkered ribbons to resemble school uniforms

stretchable bead bracelet for the wrist corsage
to fit any wrist size

I was really glad that Neil (the bride's brother) found me! :) Neil was a very supportive brother who was all hands on with the wedding details.{I bet he was also hands on when he had his own wedding :)} This wedding project for a couple from Dubai, UAE was really a huge challenge for me.  Aside from being a BIG project (flowers for the whole ento + wedding cord), there were a lot of firsts for me - first back to school themed wedding, first brooch bouquet, first kusudama bouquets (see next posts). And this is my first back to school themed wedding cord....
